This video clip shows the "heart beat" of the left ventricle in a cross sectional view in the M-Mode. From this view, our Veterinarians can determine the contractility or "strength" of the main heart chamber and assess its overall strength.

This is a cross sectional view at the level of the aorta and left atrium. Our Veterinarians can capture valuable data to detect heart chamber enlargement which is a sign of serious heart disease. These heart measurements will in turn determine if heart medications are warranted. Heart ultrasounds can be repeated serially over time to monitor the progression of heart disease and to adjust heart medications.
